Duties

History SA is a major State Government cultural institution responsible for the collection, research, public presentation and interpretation of South Australias material heritage and social history. The organisation collaborates with other cultural institutions to contribute to building an educated community and support economic development through cultural tourism.

Reporting to the History Trust history alive through the use of a range of bold and SA Board, the Director leads, manages, and promotes History SA as a major State cultural institution that encourages South Australians to explore their identity and attract people in distinctive and engaging ways.

The position is responsible for bringing exciting techniques using technology platforms that make stories come to life. In addition the Director contributes to the achievement of the seven priorities of government, the South Australian Strategic Plan (SASP) and the States Vibrant City agenda.

Special conditions
This is a contract / term vacancy up to 31/12/2020. Extensive out of hours work may be required. Intrastate, interstate and international travel may be required.

Essential qualifications
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is considered essential for the position.
