The Queensland Museum Network has been discovering and celebrating Queensland’s biological diversity, cultural heritage and geological treasures for more than 150 years.

Today, the Queensland Museum Network is the keeping place for the State Collection, comprised of more than 1.2 million cultural objects and natural history specimens and more than 14 million research items.

As one of the most visited museum networks in Australia with four campuses located in Townsville, Toowoomba, Ipswich and Brisbane, Queensland Museum offers Queensland residents and visitors enriching experiences including dynamic programming, large scale exhibitions including the signature World Science Festival Brisbane, respected scientific and cultural research, and the State’s cultural heritage collections.

Queensland Museum Network is an established leader in STEM engagement, enhancing Queensland’s profile as a knowledge economy and positioning the state as an international hub for scientific thought leadership.

Working with the Chair and Board of Directors, commercial partners, industry and stakeholders, including the Queensland Government, the CEO will help embed the strategic direction of the organisation to continue its journey to bethe premier museum network in Australia and grow its international reputation.

This role will suit an astute, externally oriented leader with a successful track record in delivering a strategic vision with commercial and community outcomes. You will set and encourage organisational excellence. You will have post graduate qualifications and a full suite of executive leadership capabilities.
