The Opportunity
Sovereign Hill is internationally recognised as Australia’s foremost outdoor museum. The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, the Gold Museum, Blood on the Southern Cross and the historic pastoral property, Narmbool.
The Position
The successful candidate will provide executive leadership for the management and day to day operations of Sovereign Hill in accordance with the direction, policies and Budget established by the Board with the primary objective to continuously advance Sovereign Hill’s international standing as an accredited museum and as a major Australian cultural tourism attraction as well as its’ position as a highly-valued educational institution to ensure its ongoing independent and profitable commercial success.

- Sound financial skills and business acumen at relevant senior level.
- Senior experience or a strong working knowledge in museum operations and the development and implementation of exhibition programs, public programs and interpretation programs using digital media would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of the tourism industry and/or education sector is desirable.
- Tertiary and Post-graduate qualifications, preferably in a management discipline, and the Company Directors Course or equivalent
