The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the Corporate Operations and Services division as the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The CIO has overall management responsibility for information and communication technology systems and services provided to the Museum and client agencies under the banner of the Cultural and Corporate Shared Services Centre (CCSSC) and ensuring that the relevant services are meeting business needs.

This position has responsibility for ensuring the Museum’s ICT helps the organisation to achieve strategic and operational goals. The position leads the Museum’s ICT capability to maximise returns from ICT investments designed to improve operational effectiveness.

The position works in conjunction with key internal and external stakeholders for the delivery of ICT and information management services and systems in line with the Strategic Plan, ICT strategies and architecture and industry practice. The CIO provides people and organisational leadership to deliver integrated and consistent ICT planning, capacity building, operations and security and will manage the provision of secure and stable ICT services to support business outcomes through effective risk management strategies.

The position must be able to translate vision into working products and define, build and shape core infrastructure and architecture to meet future needs. A strong collaborative approach is critical.

The CIO leads a team of officers and contractors responsible for the delivery and ongoing quality service support for ICT and desktop users for clients of the CCSSC, including the Museum.

Creating and maintaining a highly professional, customer-oriented, innovative and future-focused environment, the CIO will oversee best practice change management and engagement with clients.

The role manages the operating and capital budget for the Business Unit and establishes strategic supplier and contract relationships. The role is accountable for overseeing the financial and performance outcomes of the ICT and information management services.
