Duties
- Contributing to the Division’s and Museum’s strategic direction and managing the planning, development and delivery of the section’s business plan.
- Planning, defining and approving changes to the Museum’s agreed information technology infrastructure, applications and services.
- Planning, monitoring and ensuring efficient and secure storage and access to the Museum’s corporate information, both digital and paper-based records.
- Managing the operating and capital budget of the section and establishing and managing contracts ensuring agreed financial and performance outcomes.
- Maintaining and approving changes to technical infrastructure for the delivery of business and exhibition systems, including internal and external web sites.
- Planning, monitoring and ensuring effective information security risk management (including access controls, plans and business continuity/disaster recovery capability).
- Undertaking the role and responsibility of the Chief Information Security Officer, setting the strategic direction for information security for the Museum and ensuring compliance with national policy, standards, regulations and legislation.
- Directing IT projects in accordance with the Museum’s project management framework, agreed Museum management practices and applicable industry best practice.
- Delivering an effective customer service culture from the section that balances organisational needs, priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Developing, maintaining and promoting information standards in accordance with legislative requirements and industry best practice.
- Ensuring sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment is available to undertake the position requirements safely and that employees in the team are provided with sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to enable them to perform their duties safely.
