The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences sits at the intersection of art, design, science, and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues.  The Chief Operating Officer is a newly created senior executive role that provides a significant opportunity to lead the operational planning and organisational transformation of the Powerhouse Museum.  This landmark transformation includes the creation of the flagship Powerhouse Parramatta, expansion of Museum’s Discovery Centre, Castle Hill, and renewal of the iconic Powerhouse Museum, Ultimo.

You will have extensive experience in leading change through a period of substantial growth and a proven track record in establishing and sustaining high-performing outcome-driven organisations.  Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for services that drive and measure continuous organisational improvement.  Key areas include;- finance, commercial, human resources, legal, information and communications technology, facilities management, and visitor services.  In this role, you will embed high-performing commercial programs that will support the broader objectives of the organisation. You will have relevant tertiary and industry experience leading the operations of a major public-facing organisation with a focus on workplace culture and transformation.
