The Australian National Maritime Museum (ANMM) is Australia’s leading centre for maritime collections, exhibitions, research and archaeology. Reporting to the Museum’s Director, the Chief Revenue Officer will play a critical Divisional leadership role in developing and implementing a five year Commercial Development and Revenue Generation Strategy that supports ANMM’s long-term commercial sustainability and corporate objectives, and utilises and develops the precinct’s unique land and water based assets and prominent Darling Harbour location. Other opportunities include the optimisation of current revenue streams related to exhibitions, venues, education, fleet utilisation, strategic partnerships, leasing and contract management arrangements.

The successful candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and proven success in growing revenue in a significant institution such as a public destination, cultural organisation or commercial enterprise to increase visitor attraction potential and assure long term sustainability. We are looking for a talented leader with outstanding communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills to lead strategy and commercial business case development, facilitate funding to realise new commercial opportunities, build capacity and relationships and implement effective and efficient controls.

Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered for short listing by the Selection Committee. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
