The CTO is a key technical role in the organization and Redevelopment Project Team that works closely with and reports to the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) in designing and delivering technology, interactive and media in the service of the overall public experience at the future ACMI.

As ACMI undergoes a complete redevelopment of the delivery of our content and a re-imagining of our galleries, this role is a unique opportunity to get involved with this significant cultural project from the initiation stage, leading the cross functional technical team in the design, build or procurement, and implementation of media, digital, and interactive technologies across the new ACMI; media preservation and beta testing laboratories; its permanent galleries; and the technical architecture underpinning them. The role will initially focus on the design and build of a technical architecture able to best serve a range of different interactive outputs, while working in conjunction with external stakeholders, the CTO will research, design, and prototype middleware (and APIs) to best realize exhibition design goals. Drawing on experience in delivering museum-scale projects they will work closely on the co-design and concept work with design and technology firms of interactive experiences and, through a deep understanding of the current potential of media technologies also contribute to the overall curatorial vision as it develops.

This Grade 6 role is offered on a fixed-term basis for a period of 2 years with an option of a further one year.

Interviews will be held the week beginning: 26 June 2017
