Museum Victoria is seeking a Client Relationship Manager with advanced sales experience in the events industry to generate significant revenue through venue hire and catering across Scienceworks, Immigration Museum and Melbourne Museum.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The primary accountability of this position is to optimise revenue attributed to the use of the venues for venue hire purposes.

The position is accountable for achieving defined sales targets which provide incremental revenue growth and is maximised through the implementation and development of effective client relationship management, sales and marketing strategies. Also to ensure a harmonious relationship between Museum Victoria and its clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Advanced sales experience in the events, venue hire or major events industry, preferably within unique venues, with a track record of achieving sales targets.
  2. Substantial experience in negotiating agreements or contracts.
  3. Experience in developing effective marketing and communications plans that relate to venue hire activities.
  4. Ability to develop a strong client base and maintain good working relationships with clients, both internal and external.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team without direct supervision.
  6. Demonstrated initiative to improve systems and processes in support of team, departmental and organisational goals.
  7. The ability to prioritise and work in an effective and timely manner and to work within a diverse organisation and across multiple business units.
  8. Proficient computer skills and experience including Microsoft Office product suite and Events Perfect, or similar events software packages.
  9. The successful incumbent is required to obtain, and meet the cost of, a National Police Records check and be assessed as suitable.
  10. The successful applicant is required to hold a Drivers Licence valid for use within Australia
