The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the Collection Development and Information business unit as a Collection Information Systems Coordinator to manage the daily activities of the team responsible for the Museum’s collection and digital asset management systems.
The Collection Development and Information business unit is responsible for setting the strategic and operational plan for development, documentation and access to the Museum’s collections. Sections within the business unit include the Museum’s Library, Photography, Collection Documentation, Collections Information Systems, Copyright and Collections Development. These teams work together to improve knowledge of and access to collections for internal and external clients.
As the Coordinator you will, under limited direction, undertake high-level administration of the Museum’s collection management system (EMu) and digital asset management system (Piction) including leading developments, upgrade and maintenance. The role also ensures associated documentation, including user guidelines and training material, is established and kept current. In this facilitation role, you will collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers and other external professionals, to identify where Museum business needs and workflows can be supported or improved and ensure system standards are maintained. You will also support the Associate Registrar Collection Documentation and Systems with reporting and project activities including higher-level tasks as required.
