Ongoing Position

Photographs, Film and Sound (PFS) is a dynamic and energetic section consisting of curatorial and technical experts supported by dedicated administrative staff motivated in excellence and the delivery of service.

The Collection Management Officer PFS undertakes a broad range of tasks associated with the coordination and administration of the Memorials PFS collection. Under the general direction of the PFS Collection Manager, this position facilitates PFS collection access and storage; manages workflows for image sales fulfilment and monitors the work of other team members, version control within the Collection Management System (CMS) and collection surveying. Other responsibilities include collection retrievals, preparing collection for conservation and digitisation, liaising and negotiating with stakeholders; responding to internal enquiries and assisting with PFS priorities and Memorial projects where directed.

The position is also required to work across multiple Memorial systems such as the collection management systems (catalogue and digital asset management system), image sales platform and document management systems (SharePoint) on a daily basis.

This position entails working with potentially distressing and culturally sensitive material.

Core Responsibilities

Under general direction undertake a range of tasks related to the National Collection including:

  • Undertake administrative support, collection documentation and project tasks as required with an emphasis on continuous improvement in a service delivery environment.
  • Register collection material and activities by documenting them on the Memorial’s collection management systems.
  • Support the Memorial’s use of PFS content against various activities such as eSales, exhibitions, publications and projects using Memorial systems such as a Collection Management System, Digital Asset Management System, Piction and Sharepoint.
