To provide support to the Curator of Visual Arts and Design, primarily in the care and interpretation of at least two categories of works within the Visual Art and Design collections of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery.

The collections are broadly divided into four categories: 19th Century Australian Art, 20th Century Australian Art, Contemporary Art, and Decorative Art. The position works with other Visual Art and Design Section team members to make an effective contribution to Section planning, projects and activities.

The position also involves participation in and effective contribution to public programs, including exhibition development, public and research enquiries, participation in the preparation of educational materials and outreach activities, and effective use of volunteers. The position contributes to the smooth function of the Section through completion of administrative tasks and participation in meetings and project teams as required.
