Museum Victoria is seeking a committed Collection Relocation Manager to manage a complex range of major collection relocations within and between Museum Victoria campuses as part of the implementation of the Interim Collection Storage Project.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The position is accountable for developing and managing collection relocation teams, strategies, plans and methodologies in order to ensure all collection relocations required to fulfil the goals of the Interim Collection Storage Project are completed on time, on budget and to the highest quality in consultation with stakeholders.

Notable skills and experiences:

  1. Demonstrated skills and experience of managing and delivering logistically complex projects incorporating planning, time, cost, quality, resource and risk management (including OHS) and the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
  2. Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of managing the requirements of complex, large museum collections
  3. Demonstrated staff management experience and the capacity to work in a multi-function team and provide leadership that fosters a co-operative and collegiate approach
  4. Experience in managing a variety of staff, consultants and contractors to ensure appropriate, safe and effective work practices across collection disciplines and complex projects.
  5. Communication and interpersonal skills of a high order, including the ability to liaise with staff, contractors and external stakeholders,  to negotiate and resolve conflicts, and to report and advise across a wide range of stakeholders, with a highly developed customer service focus
  6. Highly developed organisational and documentation skills
