Museum Victoria is seeking a Collection Systems Technical Support Manager to manage the technical operations of Collection Management Software, Axiell EMu, to support data provision to websites, apps and exhibition interactives, contribute to the development of new applications related to collection and business systems and to support other technical activity as required.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is primarily accountable for the technical operation and support of collection management software and hardware by the provision of responsive service through collaboration with Collection Information Systems (CIS) and ICT staff and vendors.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Familiarity with the technical management and development of Collection Management Software: currently (2016) Axiell EMu and KE Texpress systems, including familiarity with associated technologies such as IMu and TexQL.
- Extensive experience and proven ability in application development in Windows and UNIX environments such as C#, C++, shell and/or PERL scripting, ASP.NET, MS SQL Server, HTML and XML.
- A good working knowledge of UNIX based systems.
- Well-developed investigative, analytical, planning and negotiating skills gained within an IT environment and applied to delivering excellent customer service.
- Excellent written and oral skills, including the ability to accurately define, discuss and document complex user and technical requirements.
- Familiarity with the principles of collection management in a museum environment.
- The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost)
