Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes.

An opportunity exists for a highly motivated and enthusiastic museum professional to join the Museum at an exciting time of redevelopment and renewal as a Collection Technician (one year – fixed-term).

The role of Collection Technician contributes to the documentation of the museum’s medal collection, which are being conserved as part of the Cenotaph Project. The work would involve improving the richness of the database records in conjunction with the Conservators working on the Cenotaph project and Collection Managers.

This would include conversion of paper-based records, updating database records and attaching digital images of the medals collection. The outcome of the project will be that all identified objects are conserved, documented and ready for exhibiting in the new Cenotaph East Gallery.
