Auckland Museum has launched Future Museum, a high-level strategic and capital investment plan that will guide a process of transformational change. This change spans all the dimensions that the museum works in – onsite, offsite and online – and will ensure the museum can achieve its vision and mission over the next 20 years.

The Collections Cataloguing Project is focused on improving the documentation of objects in the collections. Auckland Museum is recruiting for a highly motivated, enthusiastic museum professional to work in the Museum on this project at an exciting time of redevelopment and renewal. The collections, and knowledge about them, are often the essential material for exhibitions, programmes and events for family, formal education, research and tourist audiences. This role will be part of the core team readying our collection for the future.

The Collections Cataloguing Project is looking for the following position as part of the Natural Science team, to work alongside colleagues from Human History and Documentary Heritage.

Collection Technician, Natural Science Collections Cataloguing Project – Marine: 16 hours per week (0.4 FTE) for 3.5 years (to June 2020) fixed term contract.
