Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its extensive collections and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum’s stories.

An opportunity exists for one highly motivated Collection Photographer to join the Museum on a fixed-term basis at an exciting time of redevelopment and renewal.

The role of Collection Photographer contributes to the delivery of a Collection Imaging project as part of a wider Collections Access and Readiness programme. The outcome of this project will be that all prioritised and identified objects from the collections will be photographed according to the Museum’s standards, linked to the collection database and clearly identified with appropriate rights and permissions statements.

This position is a rare opportunity for someone with a strong photographic background to make a meaningful difference to the understanding of the culture of Auckland, New Zealand, the Pacific and beyond and are eagerly awaited within the Museum.
