Museums Victoria, Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Commercial Marketing & Communications Officer as a full time, ongoing role. We are looking for a highly skilled marketing and communications professional with the passion, drive and experience to create, develop and deliver a mix of retail, commercial and revenue driving content, communications and marketing activities that drive a strong return on investment and engages and builds audiences across multiple locations.
Working with the Marketing & Communications team, core duties of this position include:
- Planning, leading and developing strategic marketing onsite signage and communications for commercial and stakeholder events
- Providing support to Marketing and Media managers on key revenue driving exhibitions and programs across paid, earnt, shared and owned channels
- Planning, leading and distributing strong retail marketing communications across paid, earnt, owned and shared channels including but not limited to, retail EDMs, retail social media posts, retail PR initiatives, bought media etc.
- Managing project budgets and preparing and analysing ROI/commercial return reports to support decision making for existing and future campaigns while informing boarder decision making across the Marketing & Communications team
Relevant skills and attributes:
- Strong understanding and experience developing commercially focused/retail/event content delivered across bought, owned, shared and earned marketing and media channels
- Proven results working with emerging communication channels such as social media, bloggers/influencers and online
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a proven background in Marketing and or Media/Communication disciplines
- Proven ability to generate positive PR coverage including developing appropriate media angles and stories and/or liaising with influencers/bloggers and publications
- An ability to write design briefs, media releases and tactical marketing plans that communicate ideas succinctly and with purpose
