Confectioner – Sovereign Hill
Sovereign Hill is a dynamic group of museums presenting the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region and its impact on Australia’s history.
The Confectionary factory makes boiled sweets using traditional methods for sale to retail and wholesale customers and provides daily lolly making demonstrations for visitors.
We are seeking a Confectioner to join our team on a casual basis.
The Confectioner is responsible for assisting with the production and packaging of confectionery and good/drink products within the Confectionery Factory whilst providing a high standard of interpretation and customer service in a pleasant and enthusiastic manner.
To be successful in this role we are looking for individuals who have:
- Understanding and awareness of general food handling/safety requirements when handling and/or making and packing food products
- Good communication and presentation skills with the confidence to demonstrate confectionery making to groups of up to 100 people
- Ability and willingness to meet deadlines whilst working in a busy environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrated cash handling skills
- Previous experience with confectionery making would be highly desirable.
