Conservator, Objects

Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a talented objects conservator. You will have the opportunity to contribute to major projects and activities which enable public access to the Museum’s diverse cultural and science collections.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The primary responsibility of this position is to contribute to the implementation of best practice programs and projects to preserve and develop the Museum’s collections, and enable their access in exhibitions, loans, research and public programs, and by external stakeholders. This position sits in the Collection Development and Access team, and works primarily on exhibitions, loans and acquisitions.

The successful applicant will join a friendly, multi-disciplinary team engaged in preventive and remedial conservation of the Museum’s collections. Based at Melbourne Museum, you will also have the opportunity to work across other exciting Museum campuses in inner-urban Melbourne.
