Work with Queensland’s unique natural and cultural heritage collections. As the only Queensland Museum conservator based permanently at the Museum of Tropical Queensland, you will need to be flexible, self-motivated and willing to undertake all aspects of museum conservation work, including the implementation of preventive conservation programs. The Museum collections include iconic North Queensland stories including HMS Pandora, internationally recognised coral and paleontology collections, marine invertebrates, maritime heritage and First Nations cultures.

As Conservator at the Museum of Tropical Queensland you will work across a wide variety of collections and materials, from biodiversity specimens and ancient fossils, to social history objects, shipwreck finds and First Nations cultural artefacts. Days will be varied as you will be involved in exhibition planning, remedial conservation treatments, environmental monitoring, and public engagement activities.
