Museum Victoria is seeking a Contracts Manager to help develop and manage a contract strategy to deliver the most efficient, compliant and cost-effective long-term maintenance of Museum Victoria’s built assets.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is accountable for undertaking appropriate research and analysis to produce contract management advice for the Strategic Facilities Management department which will ensure the optimum performance and development for all Museum Victoria buildings.
It is also accountable for identifying the most cost effective contracts for building, plant and equipment maintenance.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of long-term strategic facilities management.
- Demonstrated ability to represent the organisation and negotiate with contractors, consultants and other external bodies regarding architectural, engineering and maintenance requirements of the Museum’s campuses.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues relating to building and services maintenance and capital works across a multi-site portfolio.
- Experience in negotiating and managing building maintenance and service contracts.
- A sound understanding of procurement and tendering processes, including relevant legislation and common practices.
- High level skills in verbal and written communication with a wide range of individuals and organisations on significant issues.
- Knowledge of, or experience with, heritage issues.
