About the Australian Museum

The Australian Museum operates within the NSW Department of Justice. The Museum provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The Australian Museum is the first museum in Australia; founded in 1827 its mission is to inspire exploration, understanding and care for our world. The Australian Museum is at an exciting time in its evolution with a new Director, transformational development works underway and significant plans for the future expansion of the Museum.

About the role

The Creative Producer Museum Renewal will support the delivery of the Museum’s Masterplan, in particular, the delivery of the refurbishment and revitalisation of the Museum’s galleries and public spaces. Working with the Assistant Director of Public Engagement and Culture, the position holder liaises with the design team, exhibitions team, production team and contractors to ensure smooth progress of this project and integration with other broader Museum programs.  The position holder will also work with key working parties associated with the creation of gallery and programming spaces.
