Position Details

A unique institution at the heart of Melbourne’s iconic meeting place, Federation Square, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is Australia’s national museum of film, TV, videogames, digital culture and art. Welcoming over 1.3m visitors in 2016/17, ACMI is the most visited museum of the moving image in the world, and it’s about to get a whole lot better!

We’re now recruiting a small team of Creative Technologists and Back-End Developers to help create the microservices and tools (the “museum OS”) to make our new museum experiences come alive. This talented team will work with colleagues across the museum, and experience designers Second Story to create and deploy systems for managing exhibition content, hardware, and everything between.

If successful, you’ll be joining a creative and high-performing team that values diversity, innovative thought, collaboration and risk-taking, as we transform our bit of Melbourne’s cultural landscape. We’d love to hear from people from all walks of life who have built a portfolio of product launches that involve video, AI, RESTful APIs or microservices, using Python, NodeJS, or something similar.
