Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes.
This exciting new role provides a high level of curatorial expertise in New Zealand Aotearoa and Pacific manuscript, ephemera and oral history material, both analogue and digital. Responsible for shaping these collections, promoting access and contributing to exhibitions and public programmes, this is a pivotal opportunity to contribute to achieving AM’s Future Museum vision.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- extensive knowledge of, vision and commitment to New Zealand Aotearoa and Pacific documentary heritage
- experience in shaping and stewardship of both analogue and digital born materials
- deep understanding of the interpretive value of these materials and as a core resource for museum-based research, both in physical and online contexts
- strong networks and collaborative relationships at local, national and international levels
