As a Curator you will take a leading role in the development of concepts and content for a new permanent gallery of environmental history, including collections acquisitions and documentation. You will be responsible for:
- Providing expertise relating to Australian environmental history, the environmental humanities and/or related scholarly disciplines;
- Helping to lead the development of a conceptual framework and content for a new gallery of environmental history;
- Developing specific exhibition modules through the application of experience and skills in the effective blending of objects, text and multimedia within exhibits, to create a vibrant, meaningful and audience-centered experience;
- Initiating and completing collections acquisitions work associated with the development of a new permanent gallery of environmental history, and completion of high quality collection records for these including photography/digitisation requests;
- Undertaking media and other communications work associated with gallery development and collections acquisitions;
- Assisting with the administration of collections documentation, data entry and processing of photography requests and copyright/licencing;
- Ensuring that you have sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to undertake your work safely.
