Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Curator. The purpose of this position is to provide curatorial support in the development of a major exhibition, with the working title “Australian Megafauna of the Ice Age”.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Curator will be to complete a range of research, collection and interpretation tasks, in order to contribute to the development of storyline, objects, audio-visual content and texts, and to engage with a wide range of stakeholders towards development of the exhibition.

Notable skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrated research experience in the field of palaeontology, particularly within the Australian context during the Quaternary period.
  • Demonstrated experience working in museum collections, and an understanding of protocols and conservation needs of these collections.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific knowledge and principles to specific audiences in an easily understood manner.
