Curator of Southeast Asian Art and Material Culture – Job No: MUA5

Join the Curatorial team at MAGNT in an exciting new phase of collection development and digitisation; delivering compelling curatorial programs for the new Northern Territory Art Gallery (NTAG). This position forms an integral part of the curation management of MAGNT’s extensive Southeast Asian, Oceanic and Material Culture collections.

The collections of the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) offer a rich understanding of the Northern Territory environment, its people and culture. As the new Curator of Southeast Asian Art and Material Culture you will be responsible for the successful delivery of related exhibitions for the opening of NTAG. This role will also contribute to a dynamic ongoing forward calendar of temporary, travelling and permanent exhibitions and public programs. You will also have the opportunity to be a part of a diverse arts and cultural environment, undertaking high-level research that enhances the interpretation and knowledge of these collections.

About MAGNT

The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) is the Northern Territory’s premier cultural organisation.

Our principal facility since 1981 is on Larrakia Land at Bullocky Point in Darwin, home to internationally renowned cultural and scientific collections and research and exhibition programs.
