Job Description

The Curator, Taonga Māori is a pivotal role unlocking the potential of Auckland Museum’s taonga Māori collection. This permanent, full-time role places the taonga Māori collections at the heart of the museum and prioritises their research, development, care and access. The postholder will enrich the content of the collection, undertake research, promote collection access, answer public enquiries and contribute to the development of exhibitions, gallery renewals and public programmes. This influential role works across many aspects of the museum’s core business, a primary focus over the next five years is a programme of gallery renewals including Māori Court.
