The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based organisation that includes: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool, the Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections. It cares for a nationally and internationally significant collection of over 150,000 objects and protects the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Victorian gold rush.
We are seeking new casual team members to join our team of Customer Service Officers at Sovereign Hill. This exiting and diverse role will see the successful candidate working between both the Front Entrance of Sovereign Hill and the Sovereign Hill Hotel. The Customer Service Officer, is responsible for engaging and assisting visitors with enquiries, purchasing decisions and processing sales transactions, and presenting ticketing options to suit their needs – either face to face or handling telephone enquiries. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for preparing for daily operations, the processing of visitor transactions and general customer service. As the first point of contact for visitors to Sovereign Hill, outstanding customer service skills and the desire to exceed our visitors expectations are a pivotal part of this role.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Experience within a customer service or retail in environment
- Excellent communications skills, and an outgoing personality
- Excellent cash handing and P.O.S. Skills
- Have a basic understanding of tourism activities and locations within the Ballarat region.
- Ability to work across flexible rosters including weekends, public holidays and school holidays
