ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the Data Support Officer will be to assist the BHL Manager in the collection, enrichment and administration of the bibliographic data associated with the historic biodiversity literature on the BHL website: https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org.
The BHL is the world’s largest online library of biodiversity heritage literature and archival materials. The project consists of over 500 organisations around the world digitising the biodiversity literature in their collections to make the foundation of our biodiversity knowledge freely accessible for everyone. Museums Victoria hosts the Australian branch of this global project.

The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated experience using spreadsheets, cleaning data and using databases
- Familiarity with bibliographic data and persistent identifiers (particularly DOIs)
- An interest in biodiversity and library, museum and/or herbaria collections
