As a member of the Digital Experience section and with direction from the Digital Development Manager, the Designer & Motion Graphic Artist is responsible for designing engaging experiences for interactive web and mobile products.

The role requires a strong understanding of interface design, and skills and experience in 3D, motions graphics and print production. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with proven experience in designing, editing and publishing a diverse range of online, interactive and print material. This includes cultural sector website and social media content. They must be proactive in developing design concepts, working with a mix of internal and external stakeholders and will have involvement in projects from initial ideation through to build and launch.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all design work produced by the Digital Experience section is of exceptional quality, adheres to the Memorial’s brand style guide and meets the high standards expected of the Memorial. The successful candidate will work flexibly in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment and will need to deliver with accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications and/or professional experience in Graphic Design (or a related field) is essential. Experience working with digital content in a museum or government environment will be highly regarded.

The key duties of the position include:

  • Conceptualise design solutions based on requirements
  • Produce design briefs, prepare draft concepts and present ideas to stakeholders
  • Develop illustrations, logos and other graphic elements
  • Determine requirements, define constraints and manage project scope
  • Edit, adjust and amend existing designs and graphic elements
  • Work with stakeholders to produce final design outputs
  • Test designs across various media
  • Amend designs after feedback
  • Ensure design concepts are fit for purpose and on-brand
  • Review and advise on ongoing development to ensure it remains consistent and adheres to the overall aesthetic
