The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) is Australia’s contemporary museum for excellence and innovation in applied arts and sciences and are uniquely placed to demonstrate how technology, engineering, science and design impact Australia and the world.
This role is due to the success and subsequent expansion of the Development team and sits within the Development and External Affairs department, which is responsible for reputation management, external relationships and development activities.
The department ensures the Museum achieves fundraising/ visitor targets and stakeholder support and aims to deliver a new focus on multiplatform marketing, reputation management and significant audience growth.
As the Development Manager, you will secure financial support for MAAS from corporate partners and private sources including individual donors, Trusts & Foundations, bequests and members. The role will have a key role in delivering the Museum’s development strategy, to increase revenues, engagement and awareness and to enhance the Museum’s brand.

Essential requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and comprehensive experience in managing donor, sponsor or client relationships
- Highly developed negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and establish relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven success in raising funds from private sources and corporate partners
- Knowledge of current policy and legislation, major trends, leading practice and external influences affecting fundraising
