The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT) is the Northern Territory’s premier cultural institution. It offers a dynamic and diverse arts, science and cultural program to more than 300,000 visitors each year.

MAGNT has seven venues: Bullocky Point, the Defence of Darwin Experience, Fannie Bay Gaol, Lyons Cottage, the Museum of Central Australia (incorporating the Strehlow Research Centre), Megafauna Central and the Alcoota fossil site.

Primary Objective:
Support the development and delivery of MAGNT’s development and communications strategies with particular focus on grant submissions and reporting, philanthropic and corporate giving programs.

Reporting to the Development Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient administrative management of MAGNT’s portfolio of existing grants and donors, as well as the identification of prospective funding opportunities.

It will be a busy role that will focus on maintaining appropriate documentation and records, liaison with key stakeholders, communications and events, and the provision of effective and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide written internal and external communications including project and contractor briefs, media releases, program and marketing copy, funding submissions, acquittals and evaluation reports.
  2. Under the guidance of the Development and Communications Manager, identify appropriate external funding opportunities for MAGNT projects.
  3. Cultivate and maintain strategic external partnerships and contacts ensuring effective close working relationships that can be leveraged for common outcomes.
  4. Develop high quality promotional materials and capability statements for a range of audiences. Work closely with the Communications Coordinator and Visitor Experience team to ensure that all MAGNT’s development and promotional collateral are current and meet company branding.
  5. Work collaboratively across the organisation to foster engagement, and research MAGNT’s impact evaluations including data collection/collation, and report and materials development, in order to produce high quality successful submissions.
  6. Support the philanthropic and corporate programs including drafting of agreements, receipting and acknowledgement letters.
  7. Maintain MAGNT’s CRM database (Salesforce) and provide related administrative support as required.
  8. Assist the coordination of MAGNT stakeholder events.
  9. Perform any other duties as delegated and negotiated with the Development & Communications Manager.
