Primary Objective
To enhance the financial viability of the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT through a variety of fundraising and revenue generation streams, including, but not limited to: individual donations; corporate memberships and sponsorships; grants from government and private foundations. .
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and responsibility in the design and delivery of fundraising programs to support the recurring annual requirements of the MAGNT.
- Work in close collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Director to develop one-on-one relationships with key stakeholders in the community with the aim of their becoming financial supporters.
- Undertake research to identify the best strategies and relevant fundraising activities to support the MAGNT’s program of activities in terms of exhibitions and collections as well as research and public programs.
- Establish and maintain a donor/sponsor database to enhance and support an annual giving and sponsorship plan.
- As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, participate in Strategic Planning Exercises and contribute to the development of the draft annual budget and work plan. .
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Demonstrable success at sourcing, securing and servicing financial and in-kind support.
- Relevant previous fundraising experience preferably for a cultural and not-for-profit organisation.
- Empathy with or understanding of the needs of a complex cultural and scientific organisation.
- Effective project and staff management skills, and ability to plan, implement and report on a diverse range of activities, in an environment requiring performance of multiple tasks and adherence to deadlines.
- High level oral and written communication skills including public speaking and presentation skills together with the ability to develop and implement fundraising campaigns.
- Sound time management skills and a proven ability to manage conflicting priorities, and work under pressure and extended hours.
- An ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and ensuring work health and safety system compliance.
