Te Papa has recently implemented a new Digital Asset Management System with the goal of capturing the digital assets of the museum and making digital storytelling easy.

The Digital Asset System Manager position is key in realising the continued roll-out, configuration, and use of the new system; and in leading efforts to migrate and organise existing digital media.

The Digital Asset System Manager oversees the day-to-day administration and use of the system; works hands-on with the digital assets and data; and trains and supports users of the system. The position plays a pivotal role in integrating use of the system across Te Papa’s programmes.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Good understanding of process for the creation and management of digital media files, particularly image and video
  • Experience working with systems for digital asset management; or demonstrated understanding  / experience of database management, rights management, metadata schema and standards, file formats, and data migration activities
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical staff

All considered applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain the legal right to work in New Zealand. Anticipated commencement date for this role is 01st February 2019.
