Te Papa is implementing a new Digital Asset Management System (DAMS) with the goal of making digital story telling easy.

The Digital Asset System Manager position is key in realising the roll-out, configuration, and use of the new system; and in leading efforts to migrate and organise existing media.

The Digital Asset System Manager oversees the day-to-day administration and use of the DAMS; works hands-on with the digital assets and data; and trains and supports users of the DAMS. The position also has a pivotal role in cohesively integrating use of the DAMS across Te Papa’s programmes.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • 3-4 years practical experience working with systems for digital asset management, preferably in a museum, archive, library or similar image repository
  • direct experience of database management, rights management, metadata standards and practices, file formatting, and data migration activities
  • Thorough knowledge of metadata schema and standards
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff at all levels across the institution, and with outside organizations and vendors
