Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Digital Content and Distribution Lead expert to establish and implement Museums Victoria’s digital content and distribution strategy, ensuring the digital stories and content we produce meet high editorial and production standards and reach and impact the widest possible audience. ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is responsible for overseeing the production and distribution of multiplatform digital content and managing the workflow and output of digital content creators, ensuring the content meets standards and guidelines, accommodates user behaviours, drives engagement, and extends Museums Victoria’s reach online, onsite and offsite.
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience in creating and implementing digital content strategies that focus on user experience principles, human centred design techniques and agile methodologies.
- Demonstrable experience in managing an organisation’s multiplatform digital content output and a record of success in growing and engaging digital audiences and identifying content and distribution opportunities.
- Demonstrable experience in planning and executing digital content commissioning, production and publishing workflows, standards and outputs.
- Demonstrable experience in applying editorial judgement when producing, publishing and moderating digital content.
- Solid industry experience in hands-on multiplatform digital content production, with demonstrable experience in story structure, writing and sub-editing, a keen eye for newsworthy content and an in-depth understanding of all phases of production.
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of developments in digital storytelling formats, content production and audience trends.
- Working knowledge of content management systems and data analytics packages and common media production software.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills and experience in managing creative teams, multiple projects and delivering to deadlines.
