Purpose of the Position:
- Take ownership of the website from a content and user experience perspective
- Develop, implement and continually evaluate the content strategy for the museum’s website to ensure it works synergistically with our other online and offline channels
- Regularly review website architecture, page layouts and content strategy, by analysing site statistics and undertaking usability studies. Use the data to inform development of new content areas and consolidate content when required
- Work with content providers to develop content that meets audience’s and museum’s needs
- Use split-testing and analytics to craft the museum’s content and develop SEO guidelines to ensure the museum’s content is at the top of Google when appropriate
- Work with internal stakeholders to develop exhibition promotional content, program and event content and personalised content for the museum’s website
- Set priorities for website content, ensure compliance for W3C guidelines and review and edit content for the website and other web channels as required
- Provide Content Management System (Sitecore) support and expertise for staff
- Develop and own the eNewsletter content strategy. Work with internal stakeholders to write and edit content for the museum’s regular eNewsletters that increases open rates, click throughs and event bookings
- Provide expertise and specialist content strategy and copy writing advice to other sections within the museum when requested
- Work with the digital outreach team to develop content for the museum’s other digital platforms when required
- Contribute to the development of Digital Outreach team objectives for short-term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives
- Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives and contribute to business improvement strategies and improve workplace practices.
Eligibility
Selection for this position will be made on the basis of relative merit which will be assessed against each item of the selection criteria. Applications that do not address the selection criteria will not be considered for short listing by the Selection Committee. As part of the selection process the selection committee may invite candidates to undertake psychometric test, you should advise the selection committee if you have any special needs. Psychometric tests may be used as the initial short-listing test or later in the selection process. Some tests are very short while others may take one or more hours.
