Museums Victoria is seeking a Digital Coordinator to develop and deliver innovative digital programs and virtual learning opportunities for students and teachers as part of Museums Victoria’s Education and Outreach programs. The position is accountable for developing and delivering digital education programs and resources which meet Museums Victoria’s objectives and priorities, and are consistent with the requirements of Victoria’s Department of Education and Training including the Strategic Partnerships Program and Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM). The role contributes to the development of primary, secondary, tertiary, adult & further education audiences.

Museums Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.

The position is accountable for developing and delivering digital education programs and resources which meet Museums Victoria’s objectives and priorities, and are consistent with the requirements of Victoria’s Department of Education and Training including the Strategic Partnerships Program and Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM). The role contributes to the development of primary, secondary, tertiary, adult & further education audiences.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience with virtual learning and conferencing and the development of digital education programs.
  2. Proven ability to develop innovative curriculum materials for teachers and students, meeting the needs of diverse learners using a range of technologies and contemporary approaches to learning.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to use insights and to critically reflect on and evaluate professional practice in order to enhance the development and delivery of programs.
  4. Demonstrated ability to liaise with key stakeholders, particularly professional teaching organisations, and/or school communities, based on direct and up-to-date experience with an education provider.
  5. Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for own performance and to co-ordinate and lead projects, ensuring that targets and objectives are achieved within agreed timeframes.
  6. The successful applicant is required to have, or be willing to undergo and meet the cost of a Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable.
