ABOUT THE POSITION:
This role is responsible for writing and editing copy and producing stories that integrate text, video, audio and interactive elements for Museums Victoria’s websites and other channels. They will work in collaboration with Museums Victoria’s experts and knowledge holders to identify and produce audience focussed digital stories that meet MV standards and editorial guidelines, accommodate user behaviours and drive engagement with MV digital platforms. The role contributes to the implementation of Museums Victoria’s One Digital Life strategy and the goals of the organisation’s Strategic Plan 2017-2025.
Key duties include

Research, write and produce compelling audience-focused digital content that integrates text, video, audio and interactive elements to Museums Victoria’s stories in refreshing and surprising new ways.
- Provide input into and ensure compliance of MV publishing guidelines and editorial frameworks and style guides.
- Guide and coach other MV staff members in best practice writing for the web, including the drafting of publication guidelines around, readability and SEO best practice.
- Collaborate with the web and other teams to increase the discoverability of Museums Victoria’s digital content by participating in the development of new platforms and creating links across all of MV’s online platforms.
- Research, write and edit scripts for use in MV video and audio content.
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Audience Insights and Communications team to create engaging content for social media and other communication channels.
- Work closely with teams in the Digital Life department to co-ordinate concurrent projects and deliver digital assets within deadlines.
- Foster and maintain strong professional working relationships with key stakeholders across the Museums Victoria, specifically with in Research and Collections with the aim of generating story leads and creating a dynamic and varied content slate.
- Maintain and apply knowledge of the latest trends in digital content delivery and participate in industry benchmarking.
- Participate in the measurement and analysis of digital content, channel use and impact of Museum Victoria’s digital stories.
