The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Premier & Cabinet. The AM is the first museum in Australia and was founded in 1827. The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. About the role
The purpose of this position is to coordinate the day to day operations of the AM Digitising Program, working closely with collection staff, barcoding staff and the EMu and DigiVol teams, under the direction of the Manager of Digital Collections and Citizen Science (DCCS), to digitize the Australian Museum collections.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary degree or equivalent experience, in any physical, natural or cultural collection or relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with and/or understanding of collections and collection data
- Experience in coordinating complex projects relevant to the digitisation of collections.
- Basic Knowledge and understanding of the application of Work Health and Safety (WH&S) legislation and regulations
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of carrying out and overseeing technical activities such as databasing, technical photography and collection handling.
- Adequate knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in the relevant Role Description.
