The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is Australia’s museum of screen culture. Unique in the museum landscape, ACMI celebrates the past, present and future of the moving image, across film, TV, video games, digital culture, and art. Its celebrated exhibitions and public programs transport, challenge, and entertain people of all ages and backgrounds right across the globe.

Reporting directly to the ACMI Board, the Director and Chief Executive Officer is responsible for leading the delivery of ACMI’s strategic and operational objectives, organisational leadership and culture. This will include:

  • Providing strong and inspirational leadership which will enrich lives and foster creative industries by illuminating the moving images, screens and technologies that define this age
  • Extending the work done to create a bold, inclusive and expansive culture where First Nations culture is at the heart
  • Overseeing the delivery of ground breaking onsite and digital programs and experiences which are designed to grow and enhance domestic and international audiences
  • Ensuring ACMI is able to grow sustainably and deliver significant public value to Victorians and all Australians
  • Developing and nurturing relationships and stakeholder partnerships across all levels of the creative industries, Government, national and international cultural organisations

ACMI welcomes interest in this role from people of diverse cultural heritage, and in particular, people from First Nations communities are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
