Live in beautiful Ballarat! Just over an hour from Melbourne, Ballarat is an exciting regional hub with a proud heritage and an exciting creative future.

The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is one of Australia’s leading independent not-for-profit museums.

Our diverse business is driven by the passion and purpose of all who work for us as they create the visitor experience that makes Sovereign Hill an internationally-renowned, award-winning cultural tourism organisation. (Our business structure includes the following key operations: Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, the Gold Museum Ballarat, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA – the newly-launched evening sound-and-light show – and Narmbool, a pastoral property where we operate environmental science programs for school camps and a function venue.)

On the cusp of its 50th Anniversary, Sovereign Hill receives over 750,000 visits annually and is about to invest in a master plan to lead our organisation forward. If you are resourceful, ideas-driven, collaborative in nature and driven by a desire to contribute, you will be attracted by the opportunity to join us in this exciting new phase of our development.

With excellent people skills, a track record for innovation, a strong sector network and a reputation for effective stakeholder engagement, you will ensure the organisation’s engagement with the public is underpinned by credible research and interpretation of the Victorian gold rush era and that content presented is suitable for a range of audiences.
