About the role

Reporting through to the CEO, The Director, Collection and Research provides strategic leadership to the development and delivery of the Queensland Museum Network’s (QMN) collections and research.

You will contribute to the organisational leadership, vision, strategy and culture and work in close partnership with the Director, Public Programs to create community connections, engaging the public in the development, management, research and exploration of the Museums collections.

Leading a multi-disciplinary team responsible for building, managing, protecting and storing collections, you will ensure objects are cared for to national benchmark standards.

Additionally, you will oversee research and increase the public profile of QMN through developing strategic partnerships with business, academic and government sectors.

About you

Through a systematic and planned approach to the management of programs and resources you will contribute your professional expertise and build capability in the development, delivery and management of collections and research.

Your academic achievements will be complemented by significant experience in a similar role and your exemplary communication skills will ensure you build and sustain relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders.
