A unique institution at the heart of Melbourne’s iconic meeting place, Federation Square, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is Australia’s national museum of film, TV, videogames, digital culture and art. Welcoming over 1.45m visitors in 2015/16, ACMI is the most visited museum of the moving image in the world and the third most visited museum in Australia.
ACMI is in the early stages of a multi-layered redevelopment that will transform the institution into a leading global museum of the 21st century, and is developing designs for a major physical and technological overhaul of the Federation Square attraction.
Reporting directly to the Director CEO and a member of the ACMI Executive team, the Director, Exhibitions & Collections will lead the vision for our exhibitions programming, collections and touring exhibitions. With a core focus on ACMI’s collection, three onsite galleries and an extensive touring program, you will head up a vibrant and engaging program of exhibitions including playing a lead role in the reimagining of ACMI’s permanent gallery.
