Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Director, Exhibitions & Audience Experiences to provide specialised professional leadership and is responsible for delivering exceptional audience experiences across all audience touch points – on-site, on screen and through outreach programs.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The position is accountable for driving and delivering an exceptional experience across all audience touch points – on-site, on screen and through outreach programs. The position oversees the design, development and delivery of local and touring exhibitions, digital content, public programs, school and education initiatives, visitor research, as well as community partnerships.

Notable skills and experiences:

  1. Demonstrated executive leadership experience in a major cultural or similar organisation.
  2. Demonstrated ability to develop, and effectively communicate and implement, the vision and strategic direction for a team.
  3. Proven ability to communicate effectively, and to develop and maintain national and international stakeholder relationship networks.
  4. Ability to build strong cross-functional and external stakeholder relationships.
  5. Experience in or deep knowledge of mobile and consumer facing product experiences.
  6. Demonstrated ability to exercise high levels of negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills where highly complex contentious or sensitive information has been received.
  7. Strong analytical skills evidenced by a proven ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyse product concepts, strategic opportunities and competitive threats.
  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation experience.
  9. The successful applicant is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check and be assessed as suitable (new employees are required to meet this cost)
