Develop Te Papa’s strategies and drive performance

We’ve recently reviewed our executive structure and put in place a model that gives us a strong platform for our ongoing success. As part of this change, we have created a new executive position, reporting to the Chief Executive, called Director Strategy & Performance.

In this position you will be a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, and will be instrumental in improving the articulation of our organisational strategy and performance. Further, you will develop and maintain frameworks and tools for effective enterprise performance planning and reporting, in order to better integrate and coordinate resource across Te Papa. In addition you will have accountability for corporate social responsibility, risk, assurance and legal functions.

You work as a key member of Te Papa’s executive team, and will be supported by a small team of programme, planning, risk and assurance professionals.

To be successful in this position, you will have experience successfully navigating and influencing across both strategy and operations, preferably within a similar sized cultural institution or public sector organisation. You will be able to work effectively in a team and make a significant contribution to team success. You will bring political nous and stakeholder management expertise to the team. Your ability to execute organisational frameworks to drive better decision making and governance will be key to your success.
