Conditions
This is for 1 part time (0.7 FTE or 52.5 hours per fortnight) fixed term vacancy, for a period of 12 months, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency. There will also be a Pool running for a period of 18 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanency.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate and a Working with Children Clearance will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department of Culture and the Arts Police Record Screening Policy.

Location
This position is located in central Perth within the State Library of Western Australia – Western Australian Museum Discovery Zone.

Job Description
The Discovery Assistant’s primary role is to enhance the Museum’s profile through the provision of high quality customer service and visitor experiences that are relevant to the collections within the Discovery Zone located within the State Library of Western Australia. Under the direction of the Discovery Manager, the role plays an active part in the delivery of visitor experiences which enhance the visit and assists with visitor enquiries.
