Museum Victoria is seeking a Discovery Centre Operations Coordinator to ensure Discovery Centre operations and services are kept to a high standard in delivering excellent customer service, and up-to-date and accurate information in response to public enquiries and through online information channels.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The position is accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Immigration Discovery Centre located at Immigration Museum including supervision of staff and volunteers, maintenance of facilities, operation of online systems, and administration of public enquiries services.

The Operations Coordinator is also accountable for administration of the Public Enquiries database, preparing reports and rosters, revising operating procedures, participating in internal and external networks and working groups, project planning and implementing strategic goals in the operations of the Discovery Centres..

Notable skills and experiences:

  1. Demonstrated experience in supervising staff and volunteers on a day to day basis in a service delivery environment.
  2. Demonstrated experience in delivering public information using web based applications including preparation and publishing online content, and actively practising social media activities.
  3. A keen understanding of the range of museum audiences, levels of customer service, and experience in handling and researching public enquiries.
  4. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the use of and the administration of information and database systems, including development and implementation of procedures and guidelines.
  5. Sound organisational skills and project coordination experience.
  6. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and able to work effectively in a team based environment.

OTHER INFORMATION
This is a full time; fixed term rostered position until 6 March 2017. The salary on offer is $60,551 + 9.5% superannuation and regular weekend work is required.
